Local photographer to give presentation on America’s Cup

Daniel Forster Jamestown resident and awardwinning photographer Daniel Forster will present “36 Years of 12 America’s Cups,” the inside stories behind his iconic images.

Forster has covered 12 America’s Cups and 10 Olympic Games during his 40-year career. His photographs have appeared in every major nautical magazine in America, Europe, New Zealand and Australia, including a cover shot on a February 1987 issue of Time.

Forster’s lecture is the first of a four-part illustrated series spotlighting the America’s Cup. His talk takes place on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 6 p.m. at the New Bedford Whaling Museum. The second lecture will feature fellow islander Scott Ferguson, the lead wing designer for Team Oracle USA.
