From Feb. 25 to March 3, the Jamestown Police Department responded to 359 calls, resulting in 204 security checks of vacant homes, businesses and public buildings.
The police also responded to nine emergency calls, four animal complaints, one parking complaint and two alarms. Officers conducted 29 traffic stops, resulting in one arrest and five traffic citations.
Erika E. Ritacco, 24, of Sloop Street, Jamestown, was charged Feb. 25 with a bench warrant. According to police, she was arrested at her home and transported to the police station where she was processed. Ritacco was then taken to 2nd Division District Court in Newport for arraignment.
Andrew E. Wasilewski, 42, of Pemberton Avenue, Jamestown, was charged Feb. 27 for simple assault. According to police, Wasilewski was taken into custody following an investigation at his home. Wasilewski was transported to the police station where he was processed and held overnight. Wasilewski was taken in the morning to 2nd Division District Court in Newport and arraigned. A court date was scheduled for March 11.
Nicholas C. DiGiando, 35, of Highland Drive, Jamestown, was charged March 1 with driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of marijuana. According to police, DiGiando was pulled over on Southwest Avenue for speeding. Police say DiGiando was in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. DiGiando was transported to the police station where he was processed and arraigned by a justice of the peace. He was released after posting bail. A court date was scheduled for March 7 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.
