Police Log

From March 11 to March 17, the Jamestown Police Department responded to 390 calls, resulting in 216 security checks of vacant homes, businesses and public buildings. Police also responded to 12 emergency calls, eight animal complaints, one parking complaint and two alarms. Officers conducted 37 traffic stops, resulting in one arrest and four traffic citations.

DUI

• Carolyn J. Flynn, 46, of Wauregan Drive, Warwick, was charged March 14 with driving under the influence of alcohol and refusing to submit to a chemical test. Police say it’s Flynn’s second refusal charge. Flynn turned herself in at the police station on an arrest warrant that stemmed from an investigation following a motor-vehicle accident on Feb. 20. According to police, Flynn was traveling eastbound on Tashtassuc Road and crossed over North Road without stopping. Flynn’s car traveled an additional 50 feet into the woods before striking a large tree. Flynn was extricated from her vehicle and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for serious injuries. Flynn was processed and released. A court date was scheduled for March 21 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.

• Raymond F. Mack, 21, of Blackstone Street, Woonsocket, was charged March 15 with driving under the influence of alcohol and refusing to submit to a chemical test. According to police, Mack was pulled over on Route 138 for following too closely to a vehicle. Mack was transported to the police station where he was processed and arraigned before a justice of the peace. Mack was released after posting bail. A court date was scheduled for March 21 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.

Larceny

Nancy E. Kurt, of Circuit Drive, Narragansett, was charged March 12 for larceny. According to police, a customer at McQuade’s Laundromat on Clarke Street complained that Kurt stole his laundry detergent and basket. The stolen items were recovered from Kurt’s vehicle. Kurt was transported to the police station where she was processed and arraigned before a justice of the peace. Kurt was released after posting bail. A court date was scheduled for March 21 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.
