Learn the mysteries of osprey migration

The Conanicut Island Raptor Project will sponsor a lecture by Dr. Rob Bierregaard at the library on Wednesday, April 16, at 7 p.m. Over the last 14 years, Bierregaard, a noted ornithologist, has placed satellite transmitters on 34 adult and 45 juvenile ospreys from South Carolina to northern New England, including four birds in Jamestown. He will describe the mysteries of osprey migration and will share what he has learned from his studies. The program will include a live raptor demonstration by the Audubon Society of Rhode Island.
