Scholarships still available for graduating seniors

• The Conanicut Island Art Association will award a total of $3,000 in scholarships to graduating high-school seniors. To be eligible, students must be a resident of Jamestown and graduating from a Rhode Island school.

Students are asked to submit a minimum of six two-dimensional pieces or two 3-D works, along with a completed application and a personal statement describing their involvement in art in high school and how it has impacted them.

Submissions on disc, along with a completed application and personal statement, should be mailed by May 16 to Wendy Crooks, 7 Hull St., Jamestown, RI 02835. To arrange a personal drop off, call Crooks at 423-0993 before May 9. Applications are available at the library or online at JamestownRI. com/CIAA.

• The Beavertail Lighthouse Museum Association is now accepting applications for the W. Craig Armington Memorial Scholarship, a $1,000 award for Jamestown residents graduating from high school. To be eligible, students must be attending college in the fall. The scholarship can be used for tuition, books or fees related to a course of study. Applications can be downloaded at BeavertaiLight.org and must be postmarked no later than May 14.

• The Jamestown Women’s Club is now accepting applications for two $1,000 scholarships. These are one-time awards for expenses associated with a student’s first year at school. Applicants must be Jamestown residents and graduating seniors who are planning to further their education. Scholarship forms are available at the Jamestown Philomenian Library. Completed applications should be sent to the Jamestown Women’s Club, P.O. Box 412, Jamestown, RI 02835. Deadline is May 9.

• Applications are now available for the Elizabeth Stone Fund Scholarship, a one-time award for expenses associated with a student’s freshman year. As many as four scholarships of $1,000 or more may be awarded. To be eligible, applicants must be Jamestown residents who have been accepted to an accredited four-year institution of higher learning. Applications are available at Lawn, Melrose and North Kingstown High schools, or online at JamestownRI. com/school. Deadline is May 15.
