Patience “Penny” Chrisler (nee Richards)

Patience “Penny” Chrisler (nee Richards), at the age of 79, fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church, died on May 20, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Tanner Shiel Chrisler Sr.; dear daughter of the late Roland Whitney and Sara Richards (nee Benoist); loving mother of R. Whitney Chrisler, Evelyn R. Chrisler, Kevin A. Chrisler (Karen Hench) of Gaithersburg, Md., Patience C. Battisti (Anthony) of Chantilly, Va., Sara B. Chrisler, Oliver H. P. Chrisler M.D. (Lynda Brady M.D.), and the late Tanner Shiel Chrisler Jr.; grandmother of 15; dear sister of Abigail R. Lambert (Jarvis) and Gabrielle Highstein (the late Stephen) of Jamestown; aunt of Winthrop B. Reed III and family of St. Louis, Mo., Roland R. Reed and family of Jamestown, and Gabrielle V. L. Reed and family of Jamestown.; great-aunt, cousin and friend of many.

A funeral Mass was held at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis on May 26. Interment followed at Calvary Cemetery at the Benoist family plot.

Penny had summered her whole life on Jamestown. She was a communicant of St. Mark Church. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date this summer. Donations can be made on her behalf to St. Mark Church, 60 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown, RI 02835.
