Seth Gillis, 44, of Richmond, passed away Dec. 22, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Jennifer (Ouellette) Gillis for 14 years.

Seth was the son of Thomas and Linda (Westall) Gillis, who raised him in Jamestown, a place he always called home. Seth was a 1988 graduate of North Kingstown High School. Seth’s passions, besides his family, were hunting and trap shooting. He looked forward to his annual hunting trip to South Dakota with his lifelong hunting partner, his dad. Seth was highly involved in recreational sports with his children. He was the voice and announcer for the Chariho Cowboys football organization. Seth looked forward to game day and loved to watch his boys play football and his daughter as a cheerleader.

Besides his wife and parents, he leaves three children, Dwight, Owen and Rachel Gillis, all at home; three siblings, Lisalette Gillis of Salt Lake City, Matthew Gillis of Smithfield, and Kyle Gillis of Rutland, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews and lifelong friends.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Dec. 30 in St. James Chapel, Charlestown. Burial followed in White Brook Cemetery, Richmond. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the RIEPOA (in memo: Seth Gillis Memorial Fund), P.O. Box 1933, East Greenwich, RI 02818.
