Police Log

The Jamestown Police Department from Oct. 5 to Oct. 12 responded to 408 calls for service, resulting in 197 security checks of vacant homes, businesses and public buildings. The police also responded to two automobile accidents, 17 fire calls, 11 animal complaints and 10 alarms. There were 37 traffic stops, resulting in three arrests and eight citations.

DUI

• Suzanne M. Aubois, 46, of Maple Avenue, Jamestown, was charged Oct. 12 with driving under the influence of alcohol and refusing to submit to a chemical test. According to police, Patrolman Pierre Pages arrested Aubois at 10:59 p.m. following a traffic stop on Conanicus Avenue. Aubois was transported to the police station, processed, arraigned and released. A court date was scheduled for Oct. 23 at 2nd District Court in Newport.

• Paul E. Belonos, 31, of Yale Avenue, Johnston, was charged Oct. 12 with driving under the influence of alcohol. According to police, Sgt. Mark Esposito noticed Belonos’ car stopped in the middle of North Main Road with the blinker on. Following an investigation, Belonos was arrested at 8:55 p.m. Belonos was transported to the police station, processed, arraigned and released. A court date was scheduled for Nov. 13 at 2nd District Court in Newport.

Warrant

Daniel J. Harpool, 21, of Hamilton Avenue, Jamestown, was charged Oct. 12 for having an outstanding bench warrant issued from 2nd District Court. According to police, Harpool was arrested at his home by Patrolman Michael Carrasquillo at 7:50 p.m. Harpool was transported to the police station, processed, arraigned and released. A court date was scheduled for Oct. 23 at 2nd District Court in Newport.

License

• Houn Pich, 54, of Lisbon Street, Providence, was charged Oct. 10 for driving with a suspended license. According to police, Patrolman Andrew Dutra arrested Pich at 8:30 a.m. following a traffic stop on Beavertail Road for speeding. Pich was transported to the police station, processed and released. A court date was scheduled for Oct. 23 at 2nd District Court in Newport.

• Gioacchino Palazzo, 63, of Hillard Avenue, Warwick, was charged Oct. 5 with driving with a suspended license. According to police, Patrolman James Chaves arrested Palazzo at 3:45 p.m. following a traffic stop on Beavertail Road for speeding. Palazzo was transported to the police station, processed and released with a citation. A court date was scheduled for Oct. 23 at 2nd District Court in Newport.

Incidents

• Officers on Oct. 7 responded to West Reach Drive at 1:23 p.m. for an animal complaint. According to police, a woman riding her bicycle was bitten by a dog. The dog was quarantined. The woman did not require medical attention.

• Officers on Oct. 8 responded to Capstan Drive at 3:19 p.m. for an animal complaint. According to police, two dogs being walked on leashes attacked each other. Both dogs were quarantined.

• Officers on Oct. 9 responded to Melrose Avenue at 11:29 a.m. for an animal complaint. According to police, an unleashed dog was loose in the streets. The dog’s owner, who lives at 77 Watson Ave., was cited for his third offense.

• Officers on Oct. 9 responded to Narragansett Avenue at 10 a.m. for a vandalism complaint. According to police, someone tampered with the door leading to the Bank of America ATM. There was no permanent damage.
