Police Log

The Jamestown Police Department from Feb. 29 to March 14 responded to 852 calls for service, including 653 security checks, six automobile accidents, 32 fire dispatches, six animal complaints and 14 alarms. There were 140 traffic stops resulting in eight arrests and 20 citations.

License

• A 28-year-old Pawtucket woman was charged March 6 for driving without a license. According to police, she was stopped at 4:30 p.m. on Conanicus Avenue for having a broken headlight. A court date was scheduled for March 18 in Newport.

• A 45-year-old Pawtucket man was charged March 6 for driving with a suspended license. According to police, he was stopped at 1 a.m. on Route 138 for illegal window tint. A court date was scheduled for March 18 in Newport.

• A 20-year-old Middletown man was charged March 10 for driving with a suspended license. According to police, he was stopped at 1 a.m. on Route 138 for having a broken headlight. A court date was scheduled for March 25 in Newport.

• A 22-year-old Narragansett man was charged March 11 for driving with a suspended license. According to police, he was stopped at 7:30 p.m. on Route 138 for weaving between lanes. A court date was scheduled for March 25 in Newport.

• A 26-year-old Cranston man was charged March 14 for driving with a suspended license. According to police, he was stopped at 9:56 a.m. on Route 138 for speeding. A court date was scheduled for March 25 in Newport.

DUI

• A 24-year-old Wakefield woman was charged March 5 for driving under the influence of alcohol and refusing to submit to a chemical test. According to police, she was stopped at 1:45 a.m. on Route 138 for leaving her lane of travel. A court date was scheduled for March 18 in Newport.

• A 27-year-old North Kingstown man was charged March 13 for driving under the influence of alcohol and refusing to submit to a chemical test. According to police, he was stopped at 12:10 a.m. on Route 138 for weaving between lanes. A court date was scheduled for March 18 in Newport.

• A 54-year-old Jamestown man was charged March 13 for driving under the influence of alcohol. According to police, he was stopped at 8:40 p.m. on Helm Street for erratic driving. A court date was scheduled for March 18 in Newport.

Incidents

• A 51-year-old East Shore Road woman was cited March 13 for dogs at large.

• A window was broken March 3 on an unoccupied summer home on Highland Drive. There are no suspects.

• A woman walking her dog March 4 on Racquet Road was threatened by a male jogger because her dog was off the leash. The jogger was not located.

• A juvenile threw a rock March 9 through a neighboring apartment’s window on Conanicus Avenue. The boy’s parent will make restitution.
