Land trust hosting talk on beekeeping tonight
Beekeepers will discuss the Godena Farm honeybee population from 7-8:30 p.m. April 20 at the library, 26 North Road.
The free presentation, led by Dennis Breneiser and Jim Turenne, is part of the Conanicut Island Land Trust’s annual meeting. The men will discuss the three-year project that has resulted in five productive hives. They also will speak about the collapse of bee colonies worldwide and the contribution they have to a healthy planet.
In 2016, the land trust harvested more than 150 pounds of honey from Godena Farm. Light refreshments will be served. Before the presentation, a brief business meeting to elect board members will begin at 6:30 p.m.
