John Justin Bell

John Justin Bell, of Malden, Mass., unexpectedly passed away on April 19, 2017.

Born in Wakefield on March 30, 1969, he held degrees from Marlboro and Boston colleges.

John was a gifted musician and a wonderful friend who still wrote pen and ink letters to those he loved. He was deeply committed to social justice. John is survived by his wife, Cheryl Harwood Bell, and their niece, Bella Ciriello; his mother, Judith H. Bell, and stepfather, William E. Knapp, of Jamestown; his brother, Gabriel W. Bell, his sister-in-law, Bebhinn O’Connell, and their two children, Cassidy and Andrew; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins whom he adored and who adored him. John was preceded in death by his father, Robert Gale Bell.

His wake and funeral were at Avery-Storti Funeral Home.

As many were aware, since his late teens, John suffered from clinical depression, an illness he faced with unfailing courage.
