U.S. senator will discuss diplomacy tomorrow

U.S. Sen. Jack Reed will discuss international relations at 6:30 p.m. May 5 at the library, 26 North Road.

Reed, a retired U.S. Army captain and paratrooper, is the senior member of Rhode Island’s congressional delegation and a Jamestown summer resident. As the ranking Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee, Reed believes the United States should use diplomatic channels before deploying its military forces. He also endorses arms control and nonproliferation to keep weapons of mass destruction from terrorists.

The Jamestown Democratic Town Committee is sponsoring the free forum.
