Godena Farm will host pollinator tour tonight

Environmental scientists from the U.S. Department of Agriculture will discuss pollinator habitats at 5:30 p.m. June 29 at Godena Farm, 891 North Main Road.

Members of the Conanicut Island Land Trust, owners of the farm, will co-host the educational tour. Topics will include planting techniques, appropriate seeds and federal funding opportunities.

These strategies will teach landowners to create and maintain native pollinators, which are being threatened because of pesticides, invasive species and climate change.

Godena Farm is 26 acres of pastures, wildflowers and orchards to support birds, bees and butterflies. Visitors can register for the free tour by calling 934-0842.
