Scottish dancing returns to senior center tonight

There will be Scottish country dancing from 7-9 p.m. July 27 at the senior center, 6 West St. B.J. Whitehouse and Christine Ariel will lead the workshop.

Dances will include “The Flowers of Edinburgh,” a traditional fiddle tune of Gaelic lineage, and “Posties Jig.” Steps are similar to the New England contra dance with lines of partners facing each other. Dancers will learn basic movements and complex steps. They should wear comfortable shoes.

No experience is needed and light refreshments will be served. The cost is $5 per dancer. There is a $10 family price.
