The association is offering nine divisions between its two leagues for players ages 4-12. The co-ed recreational league offers four age groups: under-6, U8, U10 and U12. The games, scheduled from Sept. 9 through October, are played at Eldred Field. To learn more about the recreational program, e-mail Liam Malloy at liamcmalloy@gmail.com.

There also are five competitive traveling teams. Along with the girls’ U10 team, the boys field teams in the U8, U10, U12 and U15 age divisions. This competitive program, which is offered in both the fall and spring, allows Jamestown players to challenge neighboring soccer clubs and participate in statewide tournaments. The competition is governed by the Rhode Island Youth Super Liga. To learn more about the traveling league, e-mail Chris Cowan at cowanchristian@gmail.com.

The cost is $80 per player in the recreational league with an additional $70 for traveling players. According to the association, it is highly recommended competitive players also participate in the recreation league to keep the program populated, especially in the U8 and U10 divisions. This is because of the limited number of children in the community.

There is a $10 discount for U6 players. Children who don’t register by the end of August will be charged a $10 late fee. Registration is available at jamestownsoccer.com.
