Bruce Sinclair de la Ronde

Bruce Sinclair de la Ronde, 56, of North Kingstown, passed away peacefully Aug. 5, 2017, in his beloved summer residence Metis-sur-Mer in Quebec, Canada. He was surrounded by his father, Ronald, his mother, Kathleen, his sisters, Sandra (Erik) and Karen (Hazen), and by the love of his life, Robin Yabroudy. His beloved dog, Smokey, also was at his side.

Bruce is also survived by his brother David, his daughter, Eva, his grandchildren, Jazmine and Princeton, his niece, Rochelle, his nephew, Morgan, and their mother, Dianne.

Bruce was a kind, caring, peaceful soul, loved by the many people he met throughout his lifetime. He had a great love of the sea and fulfilled this passion by working on a tall ship and fishing boats, and ultimately working for the U.S. Navy, where he received an award for meritorious civilian service for his contributions as a trainer information assurance manager at Surface Warfare Officers School Command in Newport just before his retirement.

The family would like to thank Dr. Gerald Colvin and the nurses at South County Hospital in Rhode Island for supporting Bruce in his courageous battle with cancer. A heartfelt “merci” to the Metis community who welcomed him home and his hospice team who provided such compassionate care to ensure he was comfortable in his final days.

A celebration of Bruce’s life was conducted Aug. 7 in Metis. There also will be a private memorial ceremony in Rhode Island.

In honor of Bruce’s memory, donations may be made to your local animal rescue society to continue his legacy of saving animals.
