Central Baptist actors presenting ‘Our Town’

The CBC Players will perform “Our Town” at 7 p.m. Nov. 3-4 and 4 p.m. Nov. 5 at Central Baptist Church, 99 Narragansett Ave.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, written in 1938 by Thornton Wilder, is a three-act play set in the fictional small town of Grover’s Corners between 1901- 13. It delves into the everyday lives of its citizens without props, sets or scenery. The CBC Players, which are returning to celebrate the church’s 150th anniversary, are the parish’s theater troupe that routinely performed in the early 2000s, including versions of “Enchanted April,” “Godspell” and “Amahl and the Night Visitors.”

Tickets are available at Baker’s Pharmacy and The Secret Garden in Jamestown, Pleasant Surprise in Newport and at Yes Gallery in Wickford. Advance tickets are $12 each; seniors and students receive a $2 discount. Tickets cost an additional $2 at the door. Proceeds will benefit hurricane relief.
