Andrea Tollefson Adams

Andrea Tollefson Adams, 80, died peacefully Oct. 19, 2017, in Thousand Oaks, Calif., surrounded by her loving family.

Andrea Tollefson was born July 8, 1937, in Jamestown, R.I., to Carl Anthony Tollefson and Mary Tapper Tollefson.

She attended the local Jamestown elementary school and then Rogers High School in Newport, R.I. She received her nursing degree from Peter Bent Brigham Hospital School of Nursing in Boston in 1958. This same year she and John Carver Adams wed.

Andrea continued her nursing career at St. John’s Hospital in Oxnard from 1963-1978.

Andrea cherished her friendships, remaining close to her childhood friend, Pat Hobert, and many Peter Bent Brigham alumni friends, especially Sally Cahill, throughout the years.

Andrea loved to sing and was a member of the Gold Coast Concert Chorus until her health started to fail. She also was a member of the Golden Classics of St. John’s Hospital. She was a loving mother, nana, great-nana, and friend. She will be remembered by many as a kind, caring individual that would offer her assistance at a moment’s notice. She will be deeply missed.
