George Spencer Berger

George Spencer Berger, of Jamestown, R.I., left this life and started a new journey Oct. 26, 2017.

Born in 1942 to Spencer and Jane Berger in New Haven, Conn., Spencer lived in many parts of the country. He spent the last 27 years of his life in Jamestown and Newport.

He leaves behind his brother, Eric; his sister-in-law, Ethel; his nephew and niece, Tim and Lolly; many generations of cousins; and a multitude of friends.

Spencer was a man of many faces, impeccable clothes and a huge heart. A holistic counselor and a talented designer, he brought spiritual light and laughter into people’s lives. He will live on in many hearts.

There will be a celebration of his life from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at the La Grua Center, 32 Water St., Stonington, Conn. Donations in his honor can be made to the Island Moving Company, which is a dance company in Newport, P.O. Box 746, Newport, RI 02840-4192, or to a charity of your choice.
