Local author is hosting weekly writing classes

The author of 17 books will describe his writing process during a six-week series that begins at 6 p.m. Feb. 1 at the library, 26 North Road.

Fort Wetherill resident Roger Marshall has been writing books on boating and gardening since the 1970s, including “How to Build Your Own Greenhouse,” a bestseller with 50,000 copies in print.

A former editor of Boatbuilder magazine, Marshall will show aspiring authors to write effective first chapters so they can develop proposals for agents. He’ll also discuss self-publishing.

This course is for aspiring novelists and nonfiction writers. Classes are on six consecutive Thursdays through March 8. Call Deb Homer at 423-7280 to learn more.
