Alton H. Conn Jr.

Alton H. Conn Jr., 70, of North Woodstock, N.H., formerly of Jamestown, passed away Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018.

He was the beloved husband of Barbara J. (Porter) Conn for 50 years.

Mr. Conn is survived by his son Michael and his wife Jessica of Marshfield, Mass., his daughter Heather Noonan and her husband Ryan of Bedford, N.H., and his five grandchildren

Ava, Emma and Hannah Conn and Jack and Molly Noonan. He also leaves behind his faithful companion Woody.

He was predeceased by his brother James Conn.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Cmdr. Alton H. Conn (U.S. Navy, Ret.) and Helen (Kenyon) Conn.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving in the Vietnam War.

Mr. Conn began his career in law enforcement for the Rhode Island State Police, class of 1971, where he served for 21 years before becoming the chief of police for the Town of Tiverton, retiring after four years.

He enjoyed skiing with his family and had worked for the ski patrol at Loon Mountain; he was also an avid golfer.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 87 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown. Burial with military honors will follow at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.

Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Fagan- Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Pan Mass Challenge (https:// donate.pmc.org/) in the name of Alton’s daughter-in-law, Jessica Conn (ID#JC0784). The Pan-Mass Challenge raises money for life-saving cancer research and treatment at Dana- Farber Cancer Institute through an annual bike-a-thon that crosses the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
