Rescheduled lantern parade set for Sunday

A lantern parade that was rescheduled because of the nor’easter Friday will begin at 6 p.m. March 11 at the Jamestown Arts Center, 17 Valley St.

The sixth annual parade is the culmination of three workshops in which instructors taught students to build handmade lanterns using flashlights and string lights. All lanterns are welcome, including those created for previous parades. Lanterns with candles will not be permitted and children must be accompanied by adults.

From the arts center, the parade route heads north on Douglas, west on Swinburne, north on North Road, east on Narragansett, south on Grinnell, west on Shady and south on Fowler. There will be a festival at the arts center following the procession.
