Phrase of the week

Johnny-come-lately: Referring to an upstart or novice, it’s a variation of the British Army calling new recruits “Johnny Newcome.” The Americanized version originated in the 19th century. There’s no significance to the name “Johnny,” but throughout the years in the U.S. and UK, people have used that name as a generic term for a guy.
