PHOTO BY ANDREA VON HOHENLEITEN PHOTO BY ANDREA VON HOHENLEITEN About 50 brave souls, many donning fake beards in honor of Will Kitts, sprinted into Narragansett Bay from East Ferry during the St. Patty’s Day Plunge. The event Sunday was rescheduled from the New Year’s Day plunge, which was canceled because of freezing temperatures. Narragansett Bay was 38 degrees during Sunday’s inaugural St. Patty’s Day Plunge, which was scheduled in lieu of the Jamestown First Day Plunge because of freezing temperatures on New Year’s Day. Proceeds raised during the event will benefit a fund in honor of Will Kitts, a volunteer firefighter and school custodian who was killed in a motorcycle accident in August. He was 33. The money will subsidize the eighth-grade class trip to Washington, D.C.
