JAMESTOWN PHILOMENIAN LIBRARY ALL PROGRAMS ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Mother Goose Time Wednesday, April 4 10:15-10:45 a.m. Join us for “Mother Goose Time,” a play-based program featuring nursery rhymes, finger plays, songs and books for children from birth to 2 years along with a parent or caregiver.

Preschool Story Time Monday, April 2 10:15-11 a.m. and Wednesday, April 4 11:15 a.m. to noon Featuring books, songs, finger plays, and a craft activity. this 45-minute program is for 2-5-year-olds along with a parent or caregiver.

Monday Workshop — Exploring the Library’s website — Monday, April 2, 16, 23 and 30 1:30-3 p.m. Learn how to: download or stream music, listen to an audiobook, take a class online, how about a new language! Learn how to take advantage of all the library’s Digital Collection right from your home or from the library!

Tuesday Matinee – Darkest Hour —Tuesday, April 3 1:30-3:30 p.m. During the early days of World War II, the fate of Western Europe hangs on the newly-appointed British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, who must decide whether to negotiate with Adolf Hitler, or fight on against incredible odds.

Living Literature — “The Hate U Give” by: Angie Thomas Thursday, April 5 6:30-8 p.m. Living Literature is a collective of Rhode Island-based artists and educators who teach literature through a unique and imaginative process. Participants experience the literature on their feet while observers see the story unfold before them. This year’s Reading Across Rhode Island (RARI) selection is The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. The selection deals with themes of identity, race relations, police shootings/violence, gang life, Tupac and hip-hop/rap music, and family.
