Security presentation tonight at the library

A representative from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will discuss mass shootings at 7 p.m. April 12 at the library, 26 North Road.

Erik Ulmen is a protective security adviser with the agency’s Rhode Island office. His presentation will include the history of these tragic events, as well as ways to prepare for them in the future. He also will describe the common behavior, conditions and situations associated with active shooters. The goal is to foster communication among residents, infrastructure operators and emergency response teams.
