Beavertail State Park venue for knitting day

The library knitting group Needles Galore will celebrate Worldwide Knit in Public Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 9 at Beavertail State Park.

All knitters, stitchers and crocheters are invited to the informal event, which was founded in 2005. Experience is not necessary. Guests should bring a chair, sunscreen, hat, lunch, water, blanket and needlework. More than 1,000 knitting groups around the globe are expected to participate.

Needles Galore will meet on the lawn between the east-facing parking lots. If the weather is bad, the group will knit at the library, 26 North Road.
