Blood drive Monday afternoon at firehouse

A blood drive is scheduled from 1:30-6:30 p.m. July 23 at the fire station, 50 Narragansett Ave.

This is the fourth of six blood drives in 2018 dedicated to James McLoughlin, a World War II veteran and lifelong Jamestown resident. He donated blood 428 times before dying at 92 in November 2015. This drive is in memory of Payton Watson, a North Kingstown girl who died from leukemia when she was 11.

Donors must weigh at least 110 pounds and should bring a photo ID. Chronic health conditions, such as diabetes or high blood pressure, do not disqualify a donor. Appointments can be made at the Rhode Island Blood Center’s website. The sponsor code is 1385. Walk-ins are welcome.
