For the 29th consecutive year, the Jamestown Community Chorus will host its talent show, the organization’s biggest annual fundraiser. Titled “Bayside Bonanza,” the showcase for nearly three decades has highlighted an eclectic roster of talent from Newport and Washington counties. While there are no age or residency restrictions, Jamestowners are especially encouraged to audition for their hometown show.

Auditions for the Aug. 16 bonanza are scheduled for 4-6 p.m. Sunday and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the recreation center, 41 Conanicus Ave., where the show itself will be hosted. The venue’s proximity to the waterfront inspired the show’s title. Auditioning is free and a piano accompanist will be available.

Prizes for the “Bayside Bonanza” raffle will include prepaid Visa cards worth $50, $100 and $150. Tickets are $10 for 15, $5 for 6 or $1 each. They are available this weekend outside Mc- Quade’s Marketplace and Jamestown Hardware. Raffle tickets also will be sold during the show.

Admission to next Thursday’s showcase is $7. Senior citizens and children receive a $2 discount. There also is a family package for $20. Tickets are available in advance at The Secret Garden and Baker’s Pharmacy. They also will be sold at the door.
