Sculpture idea good, size, location is not

To the editor:

I commend the group raising the money to purchase the “Whale’s Tail” by Peter Diepenbrock for Jamestown.

However I question the location for two reasons: scale and setting. The piece seems too large for East Ferry and is not appropriate for the Bay. Whales live in the ocean so would not placing the sculpture on Beavertail make sense? It would not dominate the area and it would be near the whale’s natural habitat.
