Rehearsals for winter concert start Monday

The Jamestown Community Chorus will begin rehearsals for its winter concert at 7 p.m. Sept. 10 at Central Baptist Church, 99 Narragansett Ave.

The chorus, founded in 1949, has been directed by B.J. Whitehouse for the past 30 years. The two-show production in December, which is titled “An Old-Fashioned Christmas,” will feature traditional songs and carols. There are no auditions for newcomers, although there is a vocal assessment to determine placement. There is a charge for music and a nominal membership fee, although scholarships are available.

Rehearsals typically last about two hours. To learn more, call Whitehouse at 423-1574.
