Members of the Jamestown Rotary Club delivered 28 Thanksgiving meals to the Jamestown Food Pantry on Sunday. Each box contained everything needed to make a complete Thanksgiving dinner. The project is sponsored by the Rotary Club, with lots of help from McQuade's Marketplace. The island Rotarians have been providing the local Thanksgiving baskets for 31 years. Porter, who is retired and living in Warwick, is credited with starting the Thanksgiving basket tradition in 1978. "Everyone said we didn't have any needy families in Jamestown," Porter recalled. "Turns out we provided about 25 Thanksgiving meals every year since." Photo by Jeff McDonough 002p1_xlg.jpg
