Jamestown’s Department of Public Works this week has been working on the final phase of the water plant project. The town is required to mitigate the wetlands disturbance from the construction of the new water treatment building. The last phase of the project includes reconstruction of a wetlands area that was formerly used for pipe storage, just south of the old water building. The project can be seen from North Main Road; the best view is from the parking lot in front of Zeke’s. Once the fill is removed, town workers will plant a variety of wetlands vegetation native to the island. Photo by Jeff McDonough 002p1.jpg
