Looking somewhat like a spacecraft, the U.S. Navy ship Sea Fighter (FSF-1) arrived for a short visit in Narragansett Bay on April 16. Sea Fighter is an experimental littoral combat ship built in 2005 by the United States Navy. A littoral combat ship (LCS) is defined as a small surface vessel built expressly for operations in the littoral zone – otherwise known as close to shore. It is meant to be an agile, stealthy, surface combatant. See more photos are www.narragansettbayshipping.com/seafighter. Photo by Rod Smith 19p1.jpg
