Frigid cold weather for the penguins
The thermometer registered a frosty 10 degrees on Thursday, Jan. 1, at noon for the 33rd annual Penguin Plunge at Mackerel Cove. However, the wind chill made it feel like minus 7 degrees.

Santa visits Jamestown
There was a large crowd on hand Saturday at East Ferry to greet Santa Claus as he made his annual arrival by boat to the island. Santa then met with youngsters at the Conanicut Marine Ship's Store.

Youngsters welcomed Santa Claus to Jamestown on Saturday. As always, St. Nick arrived by boat at East Ferry and then visited with the kids up the street at the Conanicut Marine Ship's Store.
