Residents needed to donate blood Tuesday

There will be a blood drive from 1:30-6:30 p.m. May 21 at the fire station, 50 Narragansett Ave.

This drive is dedicated to James McLoughlin, a World War II veteran and lifelong Jamestown resident. He donated blood 428 times before dying in 2015. The event, which is the second of six drives in 2019, is being administered by the Rhode Island Blood Center.

Online appointments can be made at the blood center’s website. Donors must weight 110 pounds and be at least 16 years old. Call 1-800-283-8385 with questions. The drive is being sponsored by the Arnold Zweir Post 22 American Legion and Memorial Post 9447 VFW.
