Jamestown graduates from the elementary school’s class of 1971 commemorated their 50th anniversary Oct. 2 under the pavilion at Fort Getty. A memorial plaque with the names of 16 members of the class who have died was erected on the side of the class’ dedicated bench at East Ferry. The waterfront bench says, “Jamestown School Class of 1971: Friends are Never Forgotten.”
