Local artists will open their studios to visitors during an island-wide exhibition from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 5.
The free event, co-sponsored by the Jamestown Arts Center and Conanicut Island Art Association, allows artists to showcase their work and demonstrate their techniques. More than 25 private homes and studios will be featured. There also will be pop-up displays at the arts center, the recreation center and Out of the Box Studio.
Printed maps will be available by Aug. 2 at the arts center, 18 Valley St. A digital map also is expected to be published on the arts center’s website. These maps will have details on the participating artists with their locations, hours and turn-by-turn directions.
