After having one of the best successful seasons ever, the Jamestown Baseball Association is building on that momentum as it enters fall ball.
“It is a great opportunity to work on your skills and prepare for next year,” said Christopher Perrotti, league president.
Fall ball is open to players who were ages 8-11 during the spring season, and the first practice will be at 5:15 p.m. Aug. 18 at the major league field on Lawn Avenue. Parents can register their children for the Cal Ripken instructional league at jamestown.sportssignup.com.
“It is easy to log in using your account from last year, or for those of you who are new to the league, create your own account,” Perrotti said. “This system allows parents to sign their child up online, and allows coaches and parents to communicate.”
The league also is looking for parents, grandparents and friends to consider becoming a board member for the 2022 season. According to Perrotti, parents who have served for up to six years are leaving the board because their children are no longer playing in the league. There are at least four seats to fill.
“There is no better way to have a positive voice in the growth of the league and the development of our players,” he said. “We really need parents to step up to help us run the league.”
Interested volunteers should email Perrotti at cbperrotti@gmail. The board of directors meets monthly via Zoom. Coaches also are needed for the ’22 season.
