Town officials shovel loads of dirt at the ceremonial groundbreaking last Thursday for the $4.64 million renovation of the public library on North Road. They were, from left, library trustee Peter Carson, trustee Chris Walsh, Ed Burman, trustee Gene Mihaly, librarian Lisa Sheley, Karen Mellor, trustee Devi Ross, architect Mohamad Farzan and Town Administrator Jamie Hainsworth. Burman owns the contracting company, EW Burman, and Mellor is director of the state’s Office of Library & Information Services.
“It marks an occasion that we have been waiting a long time for,” Mihaly said. “And we are so grateful to all the donors, from the biggest to the smallest, for their generosity and patience.”
