Joseph N. Medeiros, 71, of Jamestown, died peacefully Jan. 4, 2023 at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph Medeiros and Anne (Gurrido) Medeiros.
Medeiros worked as a business representative with IUEC Local 39 for many years. He served on the educational program with National Elevator Industry Educational Program as a mentor to many people until his retirement. He was a kind and generous man, offering a helping hand to anyone who came his way.
He enjoyed motorcycle riding, volunteering with Toys for Tots, being a member of the Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department and Jamestown Portuguese Club. He was well known in the Jamestown boating community.
He leaves his loving stepchildren: John R. Kaiser, Pamela L. Fish and Tracy Kaiser. He was the father of the late Joseph M. “Joey” Medeiros. Cherished grandfather of Joseph C. Medeiros, Ellise Castro, Saje Fish, Kyli Fish, Mariah Kaiser, Lucas Hesse, Hailey Hesse and great-grandfather of Rylan Castro.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023 in St. Mark Church, 60 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown. Burial in St. Mark Cemetery will be private.
Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in The Cranston-Murphy Funeral Home of Wickford, 140 W. Main St., Wickford Village, North Kingstown.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to the Potter League for Animals, 87 Oliphant Lane, Middletown, RI 02842 will be appreciated.
