‘Joyful’ vampire tour will arrive next week

The romantic comedy “Bite Me” will be screened at 7 p.m. July 25 at the Jamestown Arts Center, 18 Valley St.

The subversive film, written by Naomi McDougall Jones, is about the subculture of alleged vampires and the IRS agent who audits them. Jones, who also stars in the film, which won best feature at the 2019 Victoria TX Independent Film Festival, will answer questions from the audience following the 83-minute film.

The event is part of the filmmaking team’s “Joyful Vampire Tour of America,” a three-month tour through 40 cities with 51 screenings. Guests are encouraged to dress up in their favorite costumes, from vampire costumes to Christmas sweaters.

Admission is $12 at the door. Tickets also are available at the art center’s website. Members and students receive a $2 discount.
