Local students recognized for academics

College and high school students from Jamestown made honor rolls and dean’s lists, and they also tossed their tasseled caps into the air, including 18 students who graduated with the class of 2023 from the University of Rhode Island. They were Jack Bashaw, Ian Bryer, Julia Bush, Jude Clarkin, Calvin Conover, Sarah Desrochers, Casey Egan, Julie Littlefield, Elisabeth Magee, Sawyer Milstead, Mackenzie Montoya, Lily Moore, Claudia Pratt, Nick Radesca, John Schott, Christian Somyk, Ben Turenne and Jaydin White. n Jamestown resident McKensie Lennon graduated cum laude with the class of 2023 with a bachelor’s degree from Lasell University in Newton, Mass. n Jamestown resident Kathryn Moody graduated with the class of 2023 with a bachelor’s degree from the American International College in Springfield, Mass. n Jamestown resident Audrey Raupp was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2023 semester at Providence College. Students must achieve a minimum 3.55 GPA to be eligible. She also was inducted into the college’s chapter of Psi Chi, which is the national honor society in psychology. n Jamestown resident William Pierce was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2023 semester at Western New England University in Springfield, Mass. Students must achieve a minimum 3.3 GPA to be eligible. n Jamestown residents Kelsey Gouveia and Rileigh Gouveia were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2023 semester at Roger Williams University in Bristol. Students must achieve a minimum 3.4 GPA to be eligible. n Jamestown resident Alexander Supron was named to second honors on the dean’s list for the spring 2023 semester at Clark University in Worcester, Mass. Students must achieve a GPA between 3.5 and 3.79 to be eligible for second honors. n Jamestown resident Emma Cotsonas was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2023 semester at Dean College in Franklin, Mass. Students must achieve a minimum 3.25 GPA to be eligible. n Fifteen students from Jamestown were named to the honor roll for the fourth quarter at Narragansett High School. Earning distinguished honors (at least 90 percent in each course) were sophomores Nicholas Bridges, Meadow Carpenter and Ryan Goodburn. Earning high honors (minimum average of 85 percent with only A’s and B’s) were senior Kirsten Kincade, junior Rory Deinert, sophomores Colby Engberg, Tabitha Gooding, Mackenzie McCarthy, Eric McInteer and Avery Shafts, and freshman Chloe McNiff. Earning honors (minimum average of 80 percent with no more than one grade below a C) were senior Katherine Bridges, junior Robert Cadwalader, sophomore Aidyn Lilly and freshman Allison Fowler. n Jamestown resident Joseph Erickson was named to the honor roll for the spring 2023 semester at the Pomfret School in Connecticut. Students must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.33.
