Maxine M. Clark, 90, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 17, 2022, at home after receiving loving care from her family and hospice.
She was the devoted wife of the late Francis “Tiny” Clark.
Born in West Hartford, Conn., the daughter of the late Maximilian and Eva (Martin) von Schade, she was a lifelong resident of Jamestown.
She was the loving mother of: Michael Clark, Sarah Clark, (Noah Anacleto) James Clark and Gary Clark; grandmother of James Clark and Benjamin Clark; cousin of Andrea Mullen of Milford, Conn.. Maxine also leaves behind her extended family members: Kristen Cornwall, Holly Nichols and Ashley Chase.
She had a love for all animals and a passion for horses. She enjoyed chatting with the locals and was known for her kindness, generosity,and ease with making friends. Prior to becoming a homemaker, Maxine worked in Newport as a telephone operator taking the ferry back and forth routinely to work.
Her true joy was her love of family.
She valued family gatherings and the simplicity of time spent with her loved ones. A shared sentiment of those she leaves behind is “she was always there when you needed her.”
Services will be conducted at a later date.
