MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA

“Geisha,” a portrait mask by Jamestown ceramist Jillian Barber that depicts Asian ladies in beautiful gardens, won an honorable mention at the “Transformation” exhibit in October sponsored by the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts. The award-winning piece will be on display, along with the four other winners, through Nov. 27 at the Finer Line Gallery in Mystic, Conn. The juror, Brian Flinn, said the five winners “represent a combination of evocative imagery, skill in visual language and interesting compositions” that align with the “Transformation” theme.
