Tickets went on sale Wednesday for the Newport Folk Festival, which will return to Fort Adams State Park in July.

Online tickets for the July 27- 30 festival can be purchased via DICE. For general admission, a three-day pass costs $270.89, a two-day pass costs $214.24 and a single-day pass costs $111.24. A three-day parking pass costs $69.01, and a single-day parking pass costs $25.75. The ferryboats from East Ferry offer an option without parking fees or traffic.

Organizers of the Newport Folk Festival are encouraging people not to purchase tickets from the secondary market. These speculative listings might not be real tickets that the seller owns. All tickets are mobile from the festival’s ticketing partner, DICE.

Children under 10 are free with a maximum of two children attending per ticketed adult.

The folk festival, which featured Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell in 2022, was founded in 1959 as a counterpart to the Newport Jazz Festival. Since 1985, Fort Adams has hosted the event. The lore of the legendary festival includes Bob Dylan’s electrical performance in 1965 when he received a hostile reception from fans for “abandoning” the folk orthodoxy.

The festival has developed a reputation for selling out of tickets before announcing its lineup. Unlike most festivals, the festival rolls out its lineup throughout the year instead of releasing a lineup on a single day.
