Vaccination clinic Monday at Melrose

The school district is hosting a clinic for COVID-19 vaccinations from 4-7 p.m. Jan. 23, Melrose School, 76 Melrose Ave.

The clinic will provide Pfizer bivalent inoculations for people at least 5 years old. Insurance information will be collected, but nobody will be turned away for lack of insurance. There is no out-of-pocket cost to anyone.

The clinic, which is only offering booster doses, not the primary series, is open to the community. People should bring their vaccination cards with them. Registration is available through QR codes in the Jan. 13 edition of The Howl. The newsletter can be found on the school district’s website.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has downgraded Newport County’s community level of COVID-19 transmission from high to medium. While the agency no longer recommends universal masking at the medium level, it still suggests wearing masks when indoors in public or for people who are at “high risk of getting very sick.”
