A heat of cyclists departs Monday from Fort Getty Road during the 45th Jamestown Classic, an annual 19-mile race around Jamestown every Columbus Day. More than 125 riders participated in the race, which is sponsored by the local Rotary Club. Please see more photos, Page 17.

Pell Bridge race Sunday to impact traffic

Community band will play concert Oct. 19

The Jamestown Community Band will perform during a free Halloween concert at 7 p.m. Oct. 19 at the recreation center, 41 Conanicus Ave. The annual concert, under the director of conductor Don Smith, will include selections from “Wicked,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “Harry Potter” and “Phantom of the Opera.”
